We had a full day today by first travelling to Takapuna and then continuing on down a little isle to Devonport. From Auckland it’s very easy to take a ten minute ferry ride to Devonport, but since we were in more north in Takapuna already, it was just as easy to hop on another bus and travel down to Devonport. Mt. Victoria is located in Devonport, which is the one of the tallest dormant volcanoes in Auckland. We hiked up to the top and were able to have 360 degrees of views stretching miles across the country. We stayed at the top for hours because we couldn’t spend enough time just taking in all of the beauty. This sweet little town has cute shops and plenty to walk around and see, but the main attraction is clearly the views from the top of Mt. Victoria.
We finished the day by taking the ferry back into Auckland. This full day of sightseeing makes me so excited to see what else New Zealand has to offer me in the next few months!
